a5c7b9f00b Sean Boswell, an Alabama teenager with a record for street racing, moves to his father's resident city of Tokyo, Japan to avoid a prison sentence in America. Boswell quickly falls in love with the world of drift racing in Tokyo's underground and a Japanese girl named Neela. However, Boswell's presence and growing talent for drifting unsettles the Japanese Mafia, which makes thousands of dollars from the sport. Confrontations arise, and Sean is faced with a simple decision: drift or die. A teenager becomes a major competitor in the world of drift racing after moving in with his father in Tokyo to avoid a jail sentence in America. What did this movie have? Seriously, because I only seemed to notice what it was lacking: EVERYTHING! There were no hot guys, no hot cars, not hot music and no hot driving. There wasn't even any decent driving. The only half-decent driving came from the secondary characters and didn't influence the story at all, save for securing it a place in the deepest abyss on Earth! Those brilliant creators of Fast and the Furious were at it again, and I am extremely sad to say that they failed miserably. For instance, the closest thing they had to a good car was fitted with a jap crap engine. You do NOT do that to an American muscle car. Sure, to supe up your Honda Civic, maybe, but not to try and fix what I can only suppose is a Shelby Cobra GT350 by the look of the body. The car Vin Diesel was driving at the end was a close second for best car of a crap movie, perhaps even better than the Cobra, save for the fact that it's far too heavy to drift. I even have my doubtsto how they really got that Cobra to drift in the first place. You can't refit an engine in one night, plain and simple. Even if it's made for the car it's going in, it just doesn't happen. One thing I really, really don't understand, is how the heck they managed to pick up a 100-speed gearbox. I honestly didn't think they made those. The fact that they must have 100-speed gearboxes became apparent right at the beginning of the movie in the race against the High School Jock. Did you not notice how they shifted gears every five seconds? When one is speeding up, one does not put the gears down one, so the only logical solution is that they must have an infinite number of gears. Besides, how is it that they can always go just that *little* bit faster, anyway? I knew this movie wasn't going to be great, or good even, but I seriously didn't expect it to be this bad. I swear, the vacuum energy of this film could give a black hole a run for it's money. If you're wondering why I've only commented about the aesthetics of this film and not any of the technical parts, the reason is this: I have chosen not to talk about the bad scripting, hopeless casting and all-round bed cinematography of this film simply because it was so depressing that I can't even bring myself to analyze it. In it's defense, this movie had an excellent cast of brilliant, highly talented stunt drivers. It is unfortunate that the poorly work on all other perspectives of this movie made it simply shameful to watch. For me, this film was simply about a pig-headed, brainless Texan who breaks every car he touches and couldn't drive properly if his life, or perhaps even the planet, depended on it. Oh, and the fact that he goes around picking fights with everyone, just to prove he's the most annoying, punch-worthy person there is. I'm sorry, if you're looking for a fun, high-octane thrill, search for it elsewhere. To be honest, this has nothing to do with the franchise storywise. Sure, it contains a lot of car chasing and racing but overall this should have been given another title, leave out The Fast And The Furious, should just have been called Tokyo Drift. Maybe I overreact because toward the end there's a link to the franchise. And nowadays we all know that Lucas BlackSean returns in part 7.

I can understand that teenagers will love this flick due the beautiful girls in it. And car lovers are looking forward to see the old school Ford Mustang towards the end but there's nothing more to pick up here then pedal to the metal scene's. On part of the story it's all so predictable. You know it, this is just about cars and racing and the racing sequences are the series' meat.

If you love gleaming cars and short skirted Asian temptresses then this is your thing. But the teaser towards the end with Vin returning makes you looking forward to entry 4. As muchI didn't like him in the first entry here he shows in 1 minute were it's all about.

Gore 0/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 4/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5 At least Lin's local color make the idiocy fun to watch. After getting in trouble (again) with the police for street racing, Alabama teenager Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) is shipped off to live with his father (Brian Goodman) in Tokyo, Japan, with the understanding that he will not have anything to do with cars. Unfortunately, he is attracted to Neela (Nathalie Kelley), the girlfriend of Takashi (Brian Tee), also known"Drift King" or just DK, who has ties to the Yakuza (the Japanese mafia). When Sean is drawn into drift racing against DK and winds up totaling the car he borrowed from Han (Sung Kang), Takashi's business partner, he enters the world of drift racing and the Yakuza in order to pay off his debt. Tokyo Drift is the third movie in the Fast and Furious franchise, preceded by The Fast and the Furious (2001) (2001) and 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) (2003), and followed by Fast & Furious (2009) (2009), Fast Five (2011) (2011), Furious 6 (2013) (2013), Furious Seven (2015) (2015), and The Fate of the Furious (2017) (2017).. The screenplay for Tokyo Drift was written by American screenwriter Chris Morgan. The Fast and Furious franchise is loosely based on a May, 1998 Vibe magazine article about illegal street racing, "Racer X", by Ken Li. The only one returning is Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) in a cameo at the end of the film. All of the other characters are new. 'Drift' refers to the sliding motion that a car takes when it races around a corner. In 'drift racing', the object is to drift while controlling the car during the slide. Paint is forced from the paint guns using a compressed air feed, which usually just blows cold air (there is no point in pre-heating paint since the car will be 'baked' in an oven to set the paint finish). It's possible the paint could be so coldto be uncomfortable when coming into contact with bare skin, though it's more likely the boy's discomfort is simply due to the bullying to which he is being subjected. Twinkie (Shad Moss) drives a green 2004 Volkswagen Touran. In order to make peace with Uncle Kamata (Shin'ichi Chiba), Sean proposes a race between him and DK with the loser agreeing to leave Tokyo. Sean puts the engine from Han's smashed up Nissan Silvia into his father's 1967 Ford Mustang GT, and DK picks the route, a winding mountain road on which he's the only one to ever make it down. The race begins, and DK immediately pulls in front but, during a near crash, Sean manages to take over the lead. DK tries to force Sean's car off the road, but Sean hangs in there, switching leads a number of times until DK's car suddenly flips over and plunges down an embankment, almost landing on top of Sean's car. When it is clear that Sean is the winner, Kamata tells him that he is free to go. Some time later, Sean has been named the new 'Drift King.' Twinkie informs him that a friend of Han's wants to race him, and Sean agrees. The challenger drives up and a silver 1970 Plymouth Satellite and is revealed to be none other than Dom Torretto. Sean compliments his ride and informs him that it's not a 10 second race to which Dom replies, 'I got nothin' but time,.' And so, the race begins.
